Reading Program

The Reading Program is a cherished tradition that brings together members in mission as they explore, share, and discuss the books.

To participate in the program, visit the Library in the Gallery hallway. In the UWF Reading Program section you will find information on the reading program along with suggested reading lists for each category. New books are added to the library each year for your convenience.

Earning your Certificate of Recognition is just one way to show what you have gained from the Reading Program.

Prayer Shawl Circle

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of knitters and crocheters who create shawls, throws and lap blankets.  These  are given to those who have medical issues, who are mourning, or have other stressful situations. We also give them to celebrate joyous occasions such as graduations, ordinations, retirements, etc.   The shawls are meant to be “God’s hugs” for the recipients.

Craft Circle

The Craft Circle meets from September - May Tuesday morning at 10 A.M. for a time of creativity and fellowship. Work together on crafts or bring an idea for the group.

Examples of projects the Seaside UMC Craft Circle is currently working on:

C.R.O.S.S. Ministry

Crosses Reaching Out to Seaside Souls

The C.R.O.S.S. Ministry began with a simple idea:
that even the smallest sign of God’s love can speak volumes.

Each cross is handcrafted by women of Seaside UMC, prayed over, and placed throughout our community—not as decoration, but as invitation.

It’s a ministry of quiet presence, reminding those who find a cross that they are seen, known, and deeply loved by God.

Through these small tokens, we believe God is still reaching out—
drawing hearts back to grace, one soul at a time.

You never know where a cross might be found—
or who might need it most.
