Description of Event – Thousands of items of clothing for men, women and children, new and gently-used, as well as shoes and accessories, are available for sale on the days of Country Fair. If you would like to volunteer we would love to have you join our team. To get to Country Fair, beginning in April the items that are donated must be sorted, sized, and hung up in bins each week. The two days prior to the Country Fair, racks need to be positioned under the tents and volunteers are needed to take the clothing from the storage bins to the church grounds and hang it in signed areas by type and size. The days of Country Fair, people are needed to assist the shoppers, keep the clothing racks organized and cash out the customers. There is a place for any one that wishes to volunteer.
Schedule of work –
Beginning with the first Tuesday in April from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ample Storage, 591 Meadow Summit Drive, Ocean Isle Beach, NC the clothing team gathers to sort, size and hang donated items.
The Thursday before Country Fair, volunteers attend a pre-fair worship service at 8:00 a.m. Following that volunteers move the clothing from the bins at Ample Storage, hang the clothing in the appropriate spot and display other merchandise on tables.
Friday of Country Fair from 7:00 to 3 p.m. volunteers are scheduled in three-hour shifts. Volunteers can assist customers, organize and neaten the displays and work at the cash registers checking customers out.
Saturday of Country Fair from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. there are three-hour shifts of volunteers doing the same work at Friday. At the conclusion of Country Fair, volunteers are needed to bag leftover items for Brunswick Family Assistance and take down the display racks and tables. These need to be delivered back to the storage bins at Ample Storage.
