About our Country Fair
Seaside’s Country Fair is a celebration of the SUMC Congregation coming together for a common purpose and to help build bridges for Christ for our community.
Country Fair includes a massive yard sale (including housewares, sporting goods, electronics, seasonal, Linens and more), tents of new and gently-used clothing, and a garden center. Inside the church building are lots of areas to explore for treasures: a book room with hundreds of used books, a jewelry room with lots of finds, a well-stocked craft area and another booth filled with delicious home baked goods. On Friday and Saturday, there is a silent auction which features fine goods and collectibles and on Saturday, a live auction features larger furniture and appliances.
This annual event is part of the church’s mission, “Building bridges to connect people in a vital relationship with Jesus Christ.” Monies earned from the Country Fair go in part to support many of the church’s outreach programs. Much of this money goes to directly support programs already in operation within Brunswick County. Additional funds make possible the extensive and ongoing work that Seaside is able to engage in throughout the year, supporting and enhancing our community. Some of these programs include the SUMC Food Pantry, Edge of the Field Free Store, Brunswick County Literacy Council, Providence Home, World and National Missions through the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries, Disaster Relief, Habitat for Humanity, an Eergency Aid Fund, Brunswick Christian Recovery Center, Brunswick Family Assistance, Church World Service, and much more.
