Seaside will celebrate World Labyrinth Day on Saturday, May 4 with two events. Following is information and the registration link for the first event:
“Peace Comes from Within” Workshop
Led by: M.E. (Beth) Langley, Labyrinth Society President
Time: 9 AM—Noon at Seaside UMC, Sunset Beach, NC
During the workshop you will:
Learn the history and types of labyrinth·
Discuss how to walk a labyrinth and different events for the labyrinth
Experience ways to create inner peace
Explore how to share inner peace outwardly with family, church, community and beyond
Express your thoughts about peace through creative artistic activities

All are invited to gather on the labyrinth AT 12:45 PM to “Walk as One” at 1:00 PM. Registration is not required. Come to walk the labyrinth and be a part of those joining in the “rolling wave of peaceful energy” of praying for peace. We will gather at the labyrinth, have a brief opening prayer, sing a song then start our walk at 1 PM. The Festive Brass of Myrtle Beach, under the direction of Dr. Charles Dumas, will provide a free concert on Sunday May 12 at 4pm at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach.
Established in 1998, the mission of the Festive Brass is to bring the local community together with volunteer musicians to support the City of Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand at all ceremonial events that celebrate our veterans past and present.
This concert will feature selections that the group will be performing on their upcoming trip to Normandy to represent South Carolina and the United States at the 80th anniversary of the Normandy invasion. In December of 2021 the Festive Brass represented South Carolina at the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
A free will offering will be collected to assist with the groups’ trip expenses.

The upcoming video-discussion Bible Study is a six-week series, The Christ-Centered Woman, Finding Balance in a World of Extremes, by Kimberly Reisman. Seaside United Methodist Church presents the High Point University Chamber Singers in concert in our Sanctuary on Saturday, April 6. Under the direction of Dr. Marc Ashley Foster, this elite choral group has performed to a sold-out audience at Carnegie Hall in NYC, and has toured extensively in the US and Europe. The concert is free and open to the public as part of our new Seaside UMC concert series - Seaside Concerts! A love offering will be received following the concert. March is National Kidney Awareness Month. Dr. Christopher Po, MD. along with several health professionals from Seaside, will be in the Fellowship Hall after each service on Sunday, March 10 to provide information regarding kidney health, how to obtain free glucometers, and answer your questions. Blood pressure checks will also be available. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two most common causes of kidney disease.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday, this devotional will guide us each day as we focus on embracing life's uncertainties. We will also hold a discussion group led by Matt, Stefanie, and Neil, weekly on Thursdays, beginning February 22, from 10 am to 11 am through Thursday, March 21. This is a time when you will have the opportunity to come and share with others what you have been discovering through the devotional book.

The menu is chili and fixin's, cornbread, salad, and apple crisp for dessert. A donation of $6 covers the cost of the meal. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy sampling chili from twelve different teams who have entered the “chili cookoff”, and vote for your favorite. Boy Scout Troop 201 invites you to enjoy pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 4, Scout Sunday at Seaside. Donations will be received to support Troop 201 and their summer adventure trip. If you can't stay for breakfast and would like to donate, Troop members will be on hand in the Fellowship Hall to receive your donation.

Living Grace is a small group study for adults experiencing mental health difficulties or disorders. This small group experience is designed to help guide you through simple biblical and neuroscience insights and tools to reduce stress, depression, anxiety, and other challenges. The group will meet for eight weeks, Tuesdays at 4 PM beginning January 23. Registration is not required. The group is open to the community.
