Seaside has hosted a divinity student each summer over the past 8 years. This year, we are blessed to host TWO students. Blake Thomsen and Megan Soun are completing their first year at Duke Divinity School. They will be getting married on May 19 and will arrive at Seaside to begin their summer Field Education experience on May 26. We look forward to welcoming Blake and Megan and participating in their ministerial formation. Blake hails from California and Megan is from Memphis. They met at Princeton, where they both graduated before coming to Duke to complete their Master of Divinity degrees.
In the weeks ahead, you are encouraged to drop Blake and Megan a line welcoming them to Seaside and wishing them well in their upcoming wedding–and for final exams, too, for that matter! You may reach Blake at: blake.thomsen@duke.edu and Megan at: megan.soun@duke.edu. We know they will be glad to hear from you.
Megan and Blake will be living in the community during the summer and welcome the opportunity to get to know the members of the congregation on a personal basis. We invite you to consider inviting them for a meal or stopping by to visit them at the church after they arrive.
