Welcome Stefanie Riley

We are excited to welcome Stefanie Riley as the newest member of Seaside’s ministry family! Stefanie graduated with distinction with a Master of Divinity degree from Campbell University Divinity School in 2010. She completed this degree while she was serving full-time as Director of Media Ministries at First Baptist Church in Wilmington. Upon graduation Stefanie was ordained by FBC and promoted to the position of Minister of Connections. She has worked with assimilation of new visitors and members into the congregation through small group connections; developed and implemented curriculum and volunteer groups, lead small groups and taught in a variety of settings. With a BA in Broadcast Communications from Geneva College (PA), Stefanie has created and produced multi-media including graphics and videos for worship and other ministry activities. She developed and oversaw the production and maintenance of the FBC Wilmington website, and increased the staff implementation of social media outlets for ministry promotion. In all, Stefanie worked for FBC almost 12 years.

Stefanie has a passion for working with older adults, has worked as a youth director, worked with young families, in children’s ministries, and began a ministry to young adults. She participated in hospital, hospice and nursing home visitation. She has worked alongside other staff members to develop sermon series themes from which to write Sunday school materials and design worship services.  On joining the ministry staff at Seaside, Stefanie says, “I am so excited to be a part of the Seaside family of faith and am honored to walk with this community as together we grow in our faith, seeking to build God’s kingdom here in Sunset Beach. Thank you for the opportunity to serve alongside you. I look forward to sharing life with this great congregation!”

By the end of our search process, Seaside had received 19 resumes, many from well-qualified Master-level candidates. Our search committee of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, along with input from our staff and representatives from the congregation, worked tirelessly and prayerfully to determine the best fit for our church family. Stefanie is outgoing and enthusiastic about Jesus Christ and the opportunity to engage in service to God and the Kingdom through her gifts and talents for ministry. On August 15th we will welcome Stefanie as our newest family member! In the meantime, you may send your notes of welcome to her at sriley@seasideumc.org. Please continue to lift our congregational family in prayer, and pray for Stefanie as she and her cats (!) transition to our area.

Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday,

Mary Jane
