With appreciation to all who helped to make our 2017 Country Fair a success, we are pleased to report that we raised approximately $58,000 for outreach ministries. Through fair proceeds, Seaside supports local support and ministries such as Providence Home, Hope Harbor, the Literacy Council, Crop Walk, SBIC, the Food Pantry, STARS and many more. In addition, funds reach around the world to support the United Methodist Committee on Relief, Missionary Salary Support, and programs such as Mountain to Mountain (Haiti).
Kudos to Fair leaders Kim and Carolyn Loucks who guided this year’s fair through many challenging moments–not least of which was the uncertainty surrounding the weather as Hurricane Irma wrecked havoc through the Carribean and up the West Coast of Florida (and THIS on the heels of Hurricane Harvey devastating the coast of Texas). But by Sunday morning, September 10, the storm track had Irma moving sufficiently west of us that we believed that the fair could continue. In the end, we had the best weather we’ve had for the fair in recent memory!
Below is a short video of some of the highlights of this year’s fair.
