Carol Sigafoos

I’m Carol Sigafoos and my husband Paul and I, and our “crazy” little black lab Mia (who most of you will remember as the “runaway” dog!), just returned “home” to Seaside UMC and the Carolinas after spending 4 1/2 years in Port Charlotte, FL, where we lived and took care of my mother. They were four years that I’ll always remember and I’m so glad I got to spend them with her. After my mom passed in May of this year, Paul and I made the decision to move back to the Carolinas, as that is where two of my sons and their families live, and we really missed all our church family too! So after a summer of “craziness”….going from FL to NJ and NY, tying up loose ends, we came to S. Carolina and found a house we loved in Lafayette Park, in Little River, SC. We just moved in a couple weeks ago and we’re still living out of boxes (and probably will be for awhile)…but we are thrilled to be back near our family and friends. And I’m even more thrilled to be back working at Seaside again!
I have started a new position here at Seaside, as Director of Visitation. It is a part time position, 20 hours a week, and consists of phone calls and visits to folks in area hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Also those folks who are home bound, and those in hospice care. I don’t have an office at the church, per se, but I have a home office and will be doing a lot of phone calls and visits from there. You will see me at the church for meetings and to catch up with the pastors, and of course on Sunday mornings….and I’m always available for phone calls.
I’m so happy to be back, and I think my favorite part of the job is reconnecting with old friends and meeting and getting to know new folks who have made Seaside their church home. The most challenging part of the job for me is to fit everything into 20 hours per week!
To unwind, I love to take long walks, listen to music, read and exercise.
The one thing that not too many people know about me is that I LOVE to eat!! I love to cook and try new recipes….from breakfasts to desserts! But mostly I love to EAT!!
I can’t wait to meet and chat with each of you and hope you’ll stop and introduce yourselves. I’m looking forward to this new journey the Lord has put before me, and am feeling blessed to be back home with all of you!!
