Mary Jane is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and did further study in Pastoral Counseling at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Following seminary, she served 11 years as a pastor in the South Georgia Conference, and had her churches twice selected as Town and Country Church of the year for the Thomasville District. Upon returning to North Carolina in 1998, Mary Jane served for 10 years as a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor, a Pastoral Counselor, and as the Coordinator of Sexual Ethics Concerns for the North Carolina Annual Conference. She was appointed to Seaside in 2009.
As Co-Pastor of Seaside, Mary Jane focuses her ministry in the areas of Worship, Pastoral Care and Programming. She is the primary staff liason with the Nurture, Witness and Christian Formation Committees as well as the Stephen Ministry program.
